who we are
conversion advantage (pty) ltd is a digital marketing agency at f02a & f02b milkwood square, 48 main road, knysna, 6571, south africa. for the purposes of popia we are the "responsible party" for the personal information described here. our information officer can be reached at info@conversionadvantage.com.
what we collect
we only collect what we need to answer you and to run our website.
- what you give us: your name, email address, phone number, business or website, the service you're interested in and anything you write in a message, when you fill in a form, book a call, email us or message us on whatsapp.
- what your browser gives us: your ip address, device and browser type, the pages you visit and how you got here, collected through analytics and advertising cookies (see "cookies and analytics").
- what we never ask for: id numbers, banking details, or any special personal information as defined in popia.
why we collect it
- to reply to your enquiry, set up a call and, if you become a client, to deliver our services and send invoices.
- to understand how the website is used so we can improve it.
- to measure our own advertising (for example, whether a google ads click led to an enquiry).
- to send you occasional news about our work, only if you've asked for it; every email has an unsubscribe link.
we process this on the basis of your consent (the tick box on our forms), to take steps at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in running and promoting our business.
cookies and analytics
the website uses google analytics 4 to understand traffic, and google ads and meta (facebook) pixels to measure our advertising. these set cookies and collect usage data, some of which is processed by google and meta outside south africa under their own privacy policies. you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of google analytics with google's browser add-on. the site works without them.
who we share it with
we don't sell personal information, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing. it is handled only by:
- our team, who need it to respond to you.
- the service providers we use to run the business: our website host, form and email services, google workspace, and the advertising platforms named above. each is bound by its own data processing terms.
- a court, regulator or law enforcement body, if the law requires it.
some of these providers store data outside south africa (mainly in the eu and the usa), in countries or under agreements that give it similar protection to popia.
how long we keep it
enquiries we don't take further are deleted within 24 months. client records are kept for the length of the relationship and for five years afterwards, as tax and company law require. analytics data is kept for the retention period set in google analytics (currently 14 months).
how we protect it
personal information is stored on encrypted, access-controlled systems with two-factor authentication, and only the people who need it can see it. if a breach ever affects your information, we'll tell you and the information regulator as popia requires.
your rights
under popia you can ask us, at any time, to:
- confirm what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy.
- correct or delete it.
- stop using it for direct marketing.
- withdraw a consent you've given.
email info@conversionadvantage.com and we'll respond within 30 days. if you're not happy with how we've handled it, you can complain to the information regulator of south africa at inforegulator.org.za.
children
our services are for businesses. we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we'll delete it if we learn we have.
changes to this policy
if we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. for a material change we'll say so on the website.
